Internship Funding

Collaborative funding of $1.9M in partnership with federal wage subsidy programs to support interns at environmental organizations across Canada.  186 youth internships at over 70 organizations has been supported to date.

$825,000 in training funding has been provided collaboratively to support capacity building training.  The focus is on leaders of small-shop environmental organizations across Canada through the Capacity Building Institute.

The Climate Hub

$10,000 to support the Climate Justice Organizing HUB in Montreal and our BIPOC Fellow,  Jacqueline Lee-Tam, who is their director.    

Environmental Youth Alliance

$10,000 to support the Environmental Youth Alliance in Vancouver.  Our BIPOC Fellow Erica Ellis is the Co-Executive Director of EYA.

Rideau Roundtable

$8,000 as a combined microloan and partial grant to support human resource capacity for the local organization.  This included a shared intern position in partnership with Eco-Internships.

Sea Change Canada

$9,000 to support ocean conservation efforts through Sea Change Canada, including the Coastal Champions project and Ocean Issues reporting. 

Watersheds Canada

$25,000 to support fresh water initiatives across the country by Watersheds Canada. Programs include the Natural Edge and Love your Lake in addition to several networking and capacity building opportunities for lake associations in Canada. 

Greening Sacred Spaces

Greening Sacred Spaces

Ongoing collaboration with Greening Sacred Spaces to support our first every community bond, the Faithfully Green Fund, with a total of $642,000 raised toward energy projects in faith-based buildings.  Projects funded include EV charging stations at churches, heat pump projects, retreat centre sustainability, and other energy saving retrofits.

Partnership funding to launch the first Community Bond with a grantee - the Faithfully Green Fund Community Bond.  A total of $642,000 has been raised to date with this bond.

Our Early Years

2010 to 2020

In the early years of our capacity funding work, we operated the "Sustainable Capacity Fund" in partnership with Sustainable Eastern Ontario.  Our pilot funding supported over 3.2 Million $ in capacity building funding and support to grassroots organizations across the region.   We also established a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) at the Ottawa Community Foundation which we continue to operate at this time.
