To apply for funding, please register for our online funding portal and submit a one-page Letter of Intent.
Please specify the dollar amount that you are asking for and how you plan to use it.
Organizations may be asked to submit a full application with further information and details.
There is no fixed deadline.
Please note that our funding cycle for 2022 is now closed. We will continue to receive Letters of Intent through our online portal, but new applications will not likely be reviewed until the first cycle of 2023.
We are aiming to review any outstanding requests from earlier this year over the fall. Due to a high volume of requests over the Spring and Summer, our timelines for decisions have been delayed and we apologize for this inconvenience.
At this time, the Sustainable Capacity Foundation is not able to set-up advance meetings with prospective applicants due to the high volume of inquiries. For an idea of what types of funding we have provided, please visit the Grantees section of this website. Note that our funding focuses on capacity needs of small environmental organizations in Canada. Generally speaking, our initial grants to new organizations range from $1,000 to $10,000 to build an initial relationship and connection. The first step is to submit a one-pager letter of interest outlining your specific capacity needs and grant focus. Please make sure to ask for a specific amount in your letter and describe what you will be using the funds for.
As part of our commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, the Sustainable Capacity Foundation is open to receiving non-written applications for funding. This can include oral, video, or artistic applications. For non-written applications, please submit your video or audio file to email@example.com.
Please note that Letters of Intent must be submitted through our online portal. Email applications with a PDF letter attachment are not accepted at this time.
